A road trip of sorts

It took us a while to map out the trip. We had originally intended to take a much more ambitious route all the way to the West Coast and back in one month, hitting about 10 National Parks along the way. But, after the fast-paced Europe trip, we're going to take it slow and explore only Northeast America and Canada. Hopefully, our rental car (a Prius!), can handle all of our stuff/gear and what I imagine will be some not-so-easy roads. But most of all, we're doing this for Max since we weren't able to bring him along to Europe. It's been tough to find affordable pet-friendly accommodations, even though we have the AAA pet friendly hotel guide, and we've ended up booking mostly with midrange chain hotels. Also, there may be an opportunity to do some camping...exciting! Or potentially disgusting, and cold, and miserable!
