Train Station Inn

We drove through the Northumberland area of Nova Scotia along the Sunrise Trail, a scenic stretch of coastal Route 6 that took us through many small beach towns. The drive was beautifully bucolic as we passed farmland, livestock, and barns. Hay bales. Big red barns. Grazing cows, horses and sheep. Corn fields. Vineyards. Really pretty and relaxing. Along the way, we stopped in the town of Tatamagouche to take a peek at the Train Station Inn, a very charming train station turned hotel. You can even stay in a caboose that sits on the railroad tracks, have dinner in the dining car, or drinks in the lounge car. We toured the green and yellow caboose car in this picture and it was really nice inside. There's a bay window seating area on top, a bedroom, and bathroom with tub. Really amazing.
