Using the free wifi in the lobby

One thing that is unsettling about the hotels in France is that the keys are real keys attached to a reeeeeally heavy key chain. So most people will leave their keys at the front desk when they go out. But when you come back, all you have to do is ask for the keys by room number, no ID or name check. Since the keys are all hung up behind the desk, it would be very easy for a random person to ask for a key and enter your room while you are out. I guess that's why there are safes in the room, but still...unsettling.
